Souris and Spike home alone part 1

Ok So this is it!
We've decided to let them loose in the house and let them duke it out. We've been playing "Which cat is hiding behind door number.... " for weeks now.

Souris is happy to explore...Spike is content(?) to be left alone...Oh yeah is Tite-Minou is outside for the day...she really is more of an outdoor cat.

Need help with the cats and my attitude.

Ok...My buddy is a light sleeper and last night he got up at 4 something AM. Ok well, coming back from the bathroom I might have tugged on the sheets (which I maintain I had none) a little too roughly and it woked him up...$?$?$&?$**?"$!%&?**, he grabbed his pillows and went downstairs. "If it't s not the cats its you ripping off my covers"
(Really, every night I ave no covers left on my side).

Ok well , I'm trying to mix the cats up today. What's the worse that can happen? Spike misses his litter box 9 times out of ten anyway. At 80 plus in cat years, his aim is off...or he really IS trying to get back at me for adding more borders. Tite-Minou and Souris can still jump, unlike Spike, so I put a litter on a table in the basement.

Ok Besides litter pans and cats with their noses out of joint...I was supposed to go to Ottawa for the Renaissance exhibit yesterday and a trip to Michael's arts and crafts and chapters and The Rainbow Bistro for live blues afterwards but one of my girlfriends had to put it off.....I felt let down....I need to get a grip. I'm a middle-aged woman who has her health, a reasonable shape, a partner (who is slightly grumpy with a big heart), a house in the country, a great job close by, awesome flower beds, a view from almost every window, a river for kayaking, bicycle trails, proxomity to 2 great canadian cities, (Bear with me , this is therapeutical), good friends all over, all of my senses, kitty cat s who are driving us nuts...ok I'm feeling a little bit better.

Heat, humidity and storms

Ok I remember saying that Tite-Minou was nice and her babies were wild but I would to edit that: Her babies are tame and Tite-Minou is wild. I think that she will always be an outdoor cat. She's ripped up the upstairs bathroom screen to get out. Well , she did that after she was spayed and the vet recommended a 7 to 10 day convalescence. Ha!!! We managed to keep her indoors for maybe 48 hours. During the night when she insisted on going out , I'd put her in the basement workshop with her litter , food , water, bed. After that, we figured that if she wanted to go out, then go out!

On the flip side, before being spayed Tite-Minou had a 4 mouse a day habit , she's down to a mouse every 36 hours. Maybe some day she will be convinced that she won't go hungry again.

When Tite-Minou goes out, she drives her kitten, Souris, nuts by going from door to door and window to window meowing at her. Often enticing her with a fresh mouse. Souris goes nuts. Souris is a great kitten when her Mom is not around. She is declawed and purrfectly happy indoors. I called a colleague of mine to see if he was still interested in adopting Tite-Minou.

We are still playing door number 1 , door number 2 and door number 3 with Spike, Tite-Minou and Souris. Evryone once in awhile we let all of doors open. Spike hisses and little bit less each time, especially when we give him ham, or salmon, or bbq'd pork, then he just complains with his mouth full.

I decided yesterday , being the delinquent music student that I am, that I must master 2 piano pieces from memory, so that when asked at a party to sit down and "play something" I won't look like a complete idiot. I've chosen to perfect Massenet's Eligie and Beethoven's Danse Villagoeise. I need to add something jazzy to my repertoire afterwards.

I'm going to do the same for the guitar which I have neglected over the past few years. I'll keep Eric Clapton's accoustic version of Before you accuse me and maybe add Carole King's You've got a friend. I'm open to suggestions.

I've beating the heat and humidity in Southern Quebec by running under our outdoor shower with my bathing suit on , in between weeding the flower beds, kayaking and swimming in my siter-in-law's pool.
My better half and I cycle everyday. Before the heat hits and later in the evening.
I hope to get to the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal: www.hahaha.com
And tomorrow to hte National Art Gallery for Michael Angelo and Leonardo Da Vinci: http://www.gallery.ca/exhibitions/exhibitions/renaissance/english/index.html

on vacation at home

Hey!
So far this vacation , I've read a lot, (Jeffredy Deaver short stories in Twisted. I ordered more books on Chapeters. I kayaked on the Ottawa river,. I,ve looked at my latest knitting project wondering what to do about it. The wool shop ran out of one of the threads I was using for this neat scarf...how am I going to finish it? Shall I undo it (frog it)?
I'm working on organizing a Stitch and Bitch group in my area for winter 2005-2006.
Well , the kittens have all gone to good homes...I made sure that these folks keep their cats for at least 15 years or more. We kept one kitten , Souris (mouse), and the Mum but we may give the Mum, Tite-Minou, (WeeKitty) to a colleague of mine who also has a proven track record with cats (19 years is his record).
Spike , my 17 year old cat is adjusting slowly.
