Marigolds are old-fashioned flowers but I like adding them to flower beds. Posted by Picasa

Susy was always trying to duck out of the pictures in Ogunquit, Maine last week. Posted by Picasa

I never thought that we would get Spike (the Sylvester looking one) so close to another cat let alone 2 kitties without having a royal hissy fit. Posted by Picasa

major kitty breakthrough

Hey! I'll try to upload a great pic of the 3 kitties sitting within a couple of feet of each other. I can't believe it!
There's hardly any hissing anymore. At best Spike and Souris follow each other around at worst Souris tries to growl and hiss at Spike.

Went kayaking 3 days in a row. On the third day, 4 other kayakers and I paddled a remote lake in the north east part of the Papineau-Labelle parc. There are no cottages except for 2 abandoned ones. We were the only 5 people on the lake. We had lunch on an island which looked like the massive rock ridge of an old mountain. Only one of us had a camera so I hope to get pictures of that eventually.

I started knitting mittens...I'm going to have to figure out how to use a stitch holder.

Souris and I love H20

Souris loves to play in the water. This morning I treated her to a leaky faucet in the bathroom...On warm days she spashes around in her water bowl...last night I found her pompomball in her dish having soaked up all of her available water upstairs.

I like water too. Yesterday , 2 girlfriends and I paddled the Ottawa river close to home and beached ourselves near the village for a chat...ah vacation.

back to knitting

Ok I have way too many scarves and the kitties will have to wait until more left over yarn for me to knit any more catnip toys.
I downloaded patterns for the yarn that I already have on hand and know that I can get. I rummaged around in my study and found a great over the shoulder bag that I can use as a commuter knitting tote.

I went to a committee meeting yesterday and knit while listening and sharing ideas and brought my knitting to a friend's house and knit while we chatted. I rewarded myself with a gulp of ice water every time I finished a row.

I bought myself a cute little spiral notebook and I am jotting down ayrn names, colour codes, patterns and needle sizes for my projects.

I've decided to take on projects that may require that I ask people questions. I realized that knitters form a community and that I want to become a member.

So I will finish that scarf that I had started, then a hat, a poncho (Martha S's with Bernat yarn), mittens and then I'll find a pattern for a knapsack or shoulder bag.

I am so excited!!!!
