Cool May morning

J. put on long johns before leaving for his daily golf game. I'll put on my farmer John wetsuit before meeting the ladies at the warf for a paddle down the Ottawa river and a ways up the Kinonge. I love my wetsuit because even though I've managed to stay pretty the same size despite being middle aged now, my wetsuit acts like a sleek black full body girdle. What more could d woman want in outdoor apparel?

Can you see the pot of soup on the stove. I love making a pot of soup on the weekend. I have the luxury of walking home for a quick lunch between classes during the week. Its comforting to sit down to a bowl of homemade soup with fresh bread and cheese. Soon it will be gazpacho weather. I've already a couple of TGIF get togethers and après kayak parties on the deck and patio.

New kitchen: finally finished!!

Well, we are done with renovating!!!! In the past eight years, walls have been knocked down, carpets torn up, windows and doors have been replaced, deck, patio and veranda added, 6 layers of floors in the kitchen have been removed.

Here is a look at the new kitchen. Brandy stained cherry wood cupboards in a simple shaker style to go with this late 1940's house. We achieved that warm cozy feeling. I loved to cook and bake before... Now I do it with a goofy grin.

Easy entertaining with the wide counter between the dining area and the kitchen. Since we somtimes cook simultaneously, I divided our small kitchen in his and her areas. We don't get in each other's way like before.
